Slideshow: A day in the life of a new mom
When you’re pregnant, your routine starts to change a little bit. You eventually need a little extra time in the bathroom, or require some assistance putting your shoes on. Appointments with your healthcare provider and reminders to take your prenatal vitamin occupy new spots on your calendar. But what are your days going to look like when the baby comes home? There are a few things every new mom will remember experiencing.

Waking up early.
This takes on a whole new meaning once you have a baby. Before baby, 6 a.m. might have made you shudder, but now it’ll feel like sleeping in. But the promise of spending time cuddling, kissing, and playing with your baby will keep sleep off your mind for a little while.

Feeding and changing.
Ah, the circle of life. The two main items on your little one’s to-do list are to eat and poop, so you’ll be feeding and changing them all day, every day. This item only appears once on this list, but be prepared to rinse and repeat every three hours or so. In fact, literally rinsing yourself off isn’t a terrible idea.

Pampering yourself.
Showering is going to become a weird-but-wonderful luxury. In theory, it’s private time to think and reflect and be clean, but in reality, it’s time to rub a little soap on your body and wonder what your baby is doing right at this very second. SheaMoisture has a MOMMY Collection, with organic Raw Shea Butter and Cupuaçu, that includes a body scrub and moisturizers just for moms to make your me-time a little more relaxing.

Attempting something productive.
You’re a new mother! You made an entire baby! You can do anything! As you try to figure out your new schedule, you might try to fit some important tasks into your day. Sending emails, filing your taxes, finally writing your novel…the level of difficulty here is up to you. Sometimes the most productive thing you can do is to get some sleep yourself.

Washing up baby.
This isn’t something you’re going to be doing daily, especially with a newborn, but some of your days will include a little scrub in the infant tub. There are soaps and shampoos made specifically for a baby’s delicate skin, like the Raw Shea Chamomile & Argan Oil Collection from Shea Moisture. It cleanses and moisturizes using 100% organic Raw Shea Butter and Chamomile, which calms and comforts baby.

Putting baby to bed.
However temporary their sleep might be, putting your baby to bed at night is a special little ritual. It’s a time to be calm, bond, and soothe your little one. The Manuka Honey & Provence Lavender Collection from SheaMoisture was designed specifically for nighttime soothing. The nurturing formula and lavender scent can help your baby unwind, and encourages restful sleep.
