By getting regular dental care, you can prevent certain health problems – and this is especially true in terms of fertility and pregnancy. Gum disease can make it harder for women to get pregnant, and during pregnancy, poor oral hygiene may make it more likely that a baby is born premature or with a low birth weight.
News Corp offers two different dental plans for employees. Depending on which plan you have, your health benefits include varying amounts of coverage for in-network or out-of-network dental services.
Aetna Dental PPO
This plan has a higher premium, but a much wider network of doctors who you can go to for care. You’re covered for in-network and out-of-network care, too, and don’t need referrals. Here are some more details about Aetna’s Dental PPO plan.
- Annual deductible: $50 per individual or $150 per family
- Calendar year maximum: $2,500
- Diagnostic and preventive services: Free
- Basic services: Up to 80% covered after deductible is met

Aetna Dental DMO
News Corp also offers an alternative dental plan that allows you to make a lower monthly contribution and pay less for care. This plan requires a separate enrollment, and any provider that you use must be within the Aetna DMO network.
